Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is read and split entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, and there’s no sign-up.
What’s the difference between the two options?+
“Every page → ZIP” turns each page into its own one-page PDF and bundles them into a ZIP. “Extract range” copies a continuous span of pages (for example 3 to 8) into a single new PDF.
Does splitting reduce quality?+
No. Splitting copies the original pages exactly, so text stays selectable and there’s no re-compression or quality loss.
Can I make the PDF smaller too?+
Splitting doesn’t shrink file size on its own. To reduce a large or scanned PDF, use the dedicated Compress PDF tool.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?+
It can open PDFs that aren’t encrypted with an open password. Fully encrypted files that require a password to open won’t load.
