About the Screen Recorder
Record your whole screen, a single window, or just a browser tab, then download the result as a WebM video — no software to install and no account. You can add your microphone for narration and capture system or tab audio for the sound that’s playing.
The recording is captured and saved entirely in your browser using the built-in screen-capture API, so nothing is uploaded, there’s no watermark, and there’s no time limit beyond what your device’s memory allows. Click Start, choose what to share in the browser’s picker, and click Stop when you’re done.
How to use it
- 1Choose audio. Tick microphone and/or system audio if you want sound.
- 2Start recording. Click Start and pick the screen, window, or tab to share.
- 3Stop & download. Click Stop, then download your WebM video.
Frequently asked questions
Is my recording uploaded anywhere?+
No. The screen is captured and the video is assembled entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server, and there’s no account or watermark.
Can I record the sound too?+
Yes. Tick “Microphone” to narrate, and tick “System / tab audio” — then check “Share audio” in the browser’s picker — to capture the sound playing on your screen. In Chrome and Edge this works best when sharing a tab.
What format is the video?+
It’s saved as WebM (VP9/VP8 + Opus), which plays in modern browsers and most video players. You can convert it to another format afterwards if you need to.
Does it work on my phone?+
Screen recording relies on a desktop browser feature (getDisplayMedia). Use the latest Chrome, Edge, or Firefox on a computer — most mobile browsers don’t support it.
Is there a time limit?+
There’s no fixed limit, but because the whole video is held in your browser’s memory until you download it, very long recordings on a low-memory device may run out of room. For long sessions, record in shorter parts.
