About the MP4 to MP3
Pull the audio out of a video and save it as an MP3 — great for keeping the sound from a clip, a talk, or a song. Choose the bitrate, optionally trim to just the part you want, and download an MP3 (or a lossless WAV).
The audio is decoded and encoded entirely in your browser, so your file is never uploaded and you don’t need an account. It works with any file your browser can decode, including MP4/M4A (AAC), MP3, WAV, and WebM.
How to use it

- 2Set options. Pick MP3 (128–320 kbps) or WAV, and optionally set Start and Duration to trim.

Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded anywhere?+
No. The file is decoded and the audio is encoded entirely in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
Which files work?+
Any file your browser can decode the audio from — MP4/M4A (AAC), MOV, WebM, MP3, and WAV all work in modern browsers. If a file won’t decode, convert it to MP4 first.
MP3 or WAV — which should I pick?+
MP3 for a small, universally playable file — choose 128, 192, 256, or 320 kbps (higher is better quality and a larger file). WAV for a lossless, uncompressed copy at the decoded sample rate shown in the header, which is much larger.
Can I extract just part of the audio?+
Yes. Set the Start and Duration in seconds to export only the section you want. The header shows the length, channels, and sample rate so you can line up the trim.
It handles long files, but slowly?+
Yes. Decoding and MP3 encoding run in your browser, so a long recording can take a while. You’ll see a warning on very long files — trim the duration for a faster result.
